In this month's issue of the newsletter, you’ll find your invitation to our annual picnic.  But it’s so much more than a picnic — it’s a family reunion for the Holston Habitat Family! What makes for a happy family reunion?  Lots of hugs for people you haven’t seen in a while, plenty of great food, games and fun for the kids, and often wearing family t-shirts are the ingredients.  We offer all of that in our family reunion picnic.  In keeping with our western theme, come in your jeans, cowboy boots and hats, and a Habitat t-shirt if you have one.  We’ll eat more than we should, play at beautiful Warrior’s Path Park, and especially get to visit with each other.  This picnic gives our Habitat families a chance to get to know other Habitat families, or to get reacquainted with volunteers who worked on their houses.  And the affiliate staff and board welcome the chance to say “thank you” to everyone who makes our work possible.

We have much to celebrate.  We have placed six Habitat families into houses thus far this year, and we hope to make that possible for three to six more families before the building season ends for 2009.  So bring your favorite dish, pack up the whole family, and join us on September 13^th for an afternoon of reunion with your Habitat family!
