| How the Partnering Process Works |
The first step in the partnership process is the Pre-Application. Families complete and submit a Pre-App to the Holston Habitat for Humanity Office to be reviewed. If the family appears to meet the income, credit and other criteria they are mailed a full application to be completed.

Once the full application is completed and returned to the Holston Habitat for Humanity Office it will be reviewed by Family Services. Members of the Family Selection Committee will complete a home visit to verify the applicant family’s need for improved housing.
If approved, the family will attend Homeowner Education classes and begin earning 500 hours of sweat equity. Once a family has earned 250 hours and has successfully completed the Homeowner Education program, they will be eligible for a build.
After a family is approved for a build they will select a lot and work alongside volunteers to build their own home. Once complete, the family’s home will be deeded to them and they become homeowners!
