Leave a Lasting Legacy

Since Holston Habitat’s founding in 1985, the organization has served 315 families. These 315 families faced eviction, danger, uncertainty, and hunger. Many had no idea how they’d keep the lights on or afford food next week.

Because of the work of our co-founder, Josephine “Miss Jo” Morrison, the lives of 315 families have been forever changed as they now find themselves in safe, affordable homes in a region they love.

We owe it all to Miss Jo, who recently passed away at 105 years old. Is that not amazing?! She may no longer be with us, but her legacy lives on.

Will you give a gift in honor of Miss Jo and the impact she made over her amazing 105 years?

If you knew Miss Jo, you knew she was fierce. She was a gentle, but mighty woman. And her mission was simple: make sure everyone had a decent place to live.

Today, Holston Habitat has six single mothers with children in our program waiting for safe, affordable new homes. Miss Jo led the way, but these women need YOU so that their dream of a new home for themselves and their children can come true.

Have you been to Lowe’s or Home Depot lately? The cost of materials has skyrocketed, and we are spending almost $40,000 MORE per house than we were 2 years ago. That’s a lot of money – we need your help!

Will you make a donation today?

Honor Miss Jo’s 105 years with a gift of $105, and you will help paint a child’s bedroom. Give $315 in honor of the lives Miss Jo changed, and YOU will provide the new front door. Give $1,985 to honor the year she co-founded Holston Habitat, and YOU will put a roof over a single mom’s head. YOUR gift of any size is what will make the difference for the women in our program.

Your donation will be put towards the cost of building new homes for these six women and their children. Don’t you want to put a roof over a single mother’s head?

In memory of Miss Jo,
